Jade Cargill Beats Naomi at WWE WrestleMania 41 to Avenge Heel Turn

Five months after landing on the shelf due to a parking lot attack, Jade Cargill gained retribution by defeating Naomi on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 on Saturday.

Back in November, Cargill was supposed to be part of a team at Survivor Series: WarGames, but she was left unconscious on the hood of a car in the parking lot during an episode of SmackDown.

While there was plenty of finger pointing, no footage existed to show who was responsible for the attack, leaving all parties potentially involved to move forward.

At the time of the attack, Cargill was one half of the women's tag team champions with Bianca Belair. Rather than forcing The EST of WWE to relinquish the titles, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis allowed Naomi to step in as Jade's replacement.

Belair, Cargill and Naomi teamed up last year at WrestleMania 40 and seemingly had a good relationship, so the pivot made plenty of sense.

At Elimination Chamber last month, both Belair and Cargill were in the women's chamber match with a Women's World Championship bout at WrestleMania 41 hanging in the balance.

Before the match could truly start, Cargill made her surprise return. She entered the chamber and went immediately after Naomi, much to the shock of The EST.

Jade beat down Naomi so badly that she could not compete in the match, and fans were left to wonder why things had played out that way.

On a subsequent episode of SmackDown, Belair confronted Naomi to get answers, and after initially beating around the bush, she eventually admitted she was responsible for injuring Cargill.

The Storm attacked Naomi again that night, but Naomi got revenge on the March 21 episode of SmackDown by interfering in Jade's match, causing her to lose to Liv Morgan.

With nothing settled between Cargill and Naomi, Aldis made a match between them official for WrestleMania 41, and it was The Storm who prevailed in her first singles bout at The Show of Shows.
