WWE WrestleMania 41 Matches Most Likely to Steal the Show

Erik BeastonApr 5, 2025

WrestleMania is typically a show defined by its main events but every year, there is a match that exceeds expectations and steals the show out from underneath the headliners, becoming one of the event's defining matches.

This year will likely be the same, with a few candidates ready to overshadow the top stars in the top matches and earn its place in history.

Ahead of the show, here is a look at the three announced matches with that potential in 2025.

Jey Uso vs. Gunther

Before Monday's Raw, there was a groundswell of concern that the World Heavyweight Championship match between Jey Uso and Gunther at WrestleMania would be a significant disappointment.

The creative had been lacking, the tone of Uso's character in comparison to The Ring General felt off, and the anticipation for the contest was nearly non-existent.

Then came a red-hot angle that saw the world champion brutalize Jimmy Uso while Jey watched, zip-tied to the ropes, helpless to save his sibling. The images of a bloodied Jimmy being put to sleep in front of his brother by the ruthless Gunther immediately created the excitement that had been missing.

Now with a point of emphasis for the intensity and aggression a match of this magnitude demands, expect Gunther and Uso to steal the show, forcing WWE to regret not making their showdown one of the two-night show's main events.

Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley

Take three of the best women's wrestlers in the world, put them in one match, and let them show out on the grandest stage in the industry.

While Rhea Ripley has not yet officially been added to the Women's World Championship, the creative ahead of WrestleMania 41 has heavily hinted that will be the case before the match takes to the squared circle in Las Vegas.

All three women have stolen the show before at the Showcase of the Immortals, with Ripley and Charlotte Flair having a Match of the Year contender in 2023, Belair and Sasha Banks delivering a historic main event in 2021, and Sky and Bayley tearing the house down just last year.

Three superb big-match performers, the only thing potentially preventing them from showing out is the Triple Threat Match format, which has been the downfall of many excellent match-ups on paper.

The strength of the wrestlers, and their experience in matches of that type, suggest they will be able to overcome the sometimes messy gimmick and deliver up to expectations, stealing the show and perhaps giving fans one of their first Match of the Year candidates of 2025.

Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

Yes, on the surface, Cargill vs. Naomi does not seem like a match destined to be good enough to steal any show with the star power that is all over the WrestleMania card.

Just beyond that, though, is a match-up born of a sneak attack that sidelined Cargill, featured months of "whodunnit" speculation, and culminated with a red-hot angle at the start of Elimination Chamber in March.

Since then, the intensity has been off the charts, with Cargill seeking revenge, Naomi introducing a new side of herself to the WWE Universe, and fans ready to see the former gain the measure of revenge she deserves.

If the match is a short, intense, aggressive brawl that is not overly long but gives fans the much-deserved payoff of either Cargill's vengeful victory or propels things forward with a potential Bianca Belair heel turn and reunion with Naomi, it will have the potential to be one of the show-stealers of this year's show.
