Toni Storm Beats Megan Bayne to Retain AEW Women's Title at 2025 Dynasty

Toni Storm beat Megan Bayne at Dynasty on Sunday night to retain the AEW Women's World Championship.

Bayne certainly had the upper hand on occasion.

Storm definitely got the best of Bayne at times, though.

In the end, Bayne looked as if she would close the match after she set up Storm for Fate's Descent. However, Storm countered the finisher with a cradle for the pin and a win.

After dropping the women's world title to Mariah May at All In last year, Storm went on a soul-searching journey that saw her temporarily revert back to her old look and character before becoming "Timeless" Toni once again.

Determined to get revenge on her former friend and take back the women's title, Storm did exactly that at Grand Slam Australia in February by defeating May.

May got her rematch last month at Revolution in a Falls Count Anywhere match that proved to be one of the bloodiest, most brutal and best women's bouts in AEW history.

Storm won the match, ended her long-running rivalry with May and retained the title, but she didn't have the benefit of celebrating her victory for an extended period of time.

Bayne made her debut as a full-time member of the AEW roster in January, and she proceeded to go on a run of dominance, beating former TBS champion Kris Statlander and former AEW women's world champion Thunder Rosa in singles competition.

After establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the women's division, Bayne wasted no time in targeting Storm, as she attacked her on numerous occasions.

That led to a tag team match on the March 26 episode of Dynamite, pitting Bayne and Penelope Ford against Storm and Rosa. Bayne and Ford were victorious, giving The Megasus a ton of momentum heading into Dynasty.

As the bigger, stronger competitor, Bayne posed a massive threat to Storm, who was defending her title against an opponent other than May for the first time since winning it back.

While Bayne has all the makings of a future women's champ in AEW, Storm temporarily humbled her at Dynasty and maintained her place atop the AEW women's division.
