Four 1-Seeds Reach Final Four in 2025 March Madness Bracket, 2nd Time Since Expansion

The top teams entering the 2025 NCAA Tournament are still alive following the Elite Eight.

With Auburn's 70-64 victory over Michigan State on Sunday, all four No. 1 seeds officially clinched spots in the Final Four.

Duke, Florida and Houston are also set to compete for an appearance in the national championship game.

Since March Madness expanded to 64 teams in 1985, the only other year that all four top-seeded teams from their respective regions earned Final Four spots was 2008.

That year, Kansas won a national title with an overtime victory over Memphis.

The 2025 tournament hasn't featured as many upsets compared to past years, as three of the No. 1 seeds punched their ticket to the Final Four by defeating No. 2 seeds in the Elite Eight.

Florida was the only top seed that didn't, beating No. 3 Texas Tech by the final score of 84-79 on Saturday due to a late go-ahead three from senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. with just over one minute left in the second half.

Duke took down Alabama with a strong second-half performance, cruising to an 85-65 win as four starters finished with at least 14 points. Standout freshman Cooper Flagg shot just 6-of-16 from the field, but he still recorded 16 points and nine rebounds.

Houston jumped out to an early lead in its Elite Eight matchup with Tennessee, holding the Volunteers to just 15 points in the first half. L.J. Cryer led the way for the Cougars with 17 points, pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Auburn was the last team to advance. The Tigers only led by five points early in the second half, but they immediately pushed their lead to 10 and didn't look back for the remainder of the contest.

Now, Florida is set to face Auburn and Duke will clash with Houston on Saturday.
