Kristopher KnoxApr 1, 2025

As the end of the 2024-25 NBA regular season approaches, fans of certain teams are already looking forward to the 2025 draft. Duke's Cooper Flagg is expected to be the top prize on June 25, and roughly a year ago, fans got to see Flagg shine in the McDonald's All-American Game.

The All-American Game boy's game, which has been around since 1978, serves as a showcase of some of the top talents headed to the college ranks. For NBA fans, it can provide a glimpse of some of next year's top draft prospects.

Flagg, for example, was widely considered a future No. 1 pick long before his Duke career began.

Here, we'll examine some of the top players set to participate in the 2025 McDonald's All-American Game.

There's a non-zero chance that AJ Dybantsa of Utah Prep Academy will be a future No. 1 NBA selection himself. The BYU commit is a talented 6'9" forward with an offensive game that will excite pro scouts.

"He has a dynamic offensive game at a lengthy 6-foot-9 and he showed a full array of scoring moves when he was playing 18 feet and in," Jamie Shaw of On3 wrote in a scouting report for Dybantsa.

Dybantsa is the top overall player on ESPN's recruiting database. He won a gold medal with the U.S. National Team in the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship while averaging 13.8 points during the tournament.

A capable two-way player, Dybantsa averaged 21.5 points, 3.2 assists, 12.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game this past season, according to MaxPreps. On Tuesday, he'll take the court for the West team.

Darryn Peterson, SG, Prolific Prep

The No. 2 recruit on ESPN's rankings, Prolific Prep's Darryn Peterson, will also play for the West team. A 6'6", 185-pound guard, Peterson was the No. 1 recruit on the November rankings of Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.

"He's mastering self-creation with his handle and pacing. Peterson is getting what shots he wants without expending crazy energy or having to fall back into tough jumpers. He's figured out how to easily separate using deceleration, timing and contact," Wasserman wrote.

Peterson, who has signed with Kansas, is another strong candidate to eventually be taken No. 1 overall in the NBA draft. The 2025 Naismith Prep Player of the Year is an elite scorer with a variety of offensive moves who should wow fans during Tuesday's game.

Not all of the top talent is concentrated on the West's roster. Christopher Columbus' Cameron Boozer, the third-ranked prospect on ESPN's database, is set to play for the East squad.

The 6'9" power forward is the son of former NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist Carlos Boozer and possesses a combination of size and skills that should translate to the college ranks and the NBA.

"It's just hard to envision a scenario where he's not a successful basketball player at the highest levels for years to come, which is why he is often credited for having the highest long-term floor in the country," Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports wrote.

The Duke commit was named the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year twice (2023, 2025) and averaged 22.6 points, 12 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.3 blocks this past season.
