Travis Hunter Headlines Top 50 Prospects on Field Yates' 2025 NFL Draft Big Board
ESPN's Field Yates has not moved off his position that Travis Hunter is the top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Yates released his updated top-50 big board on Saturday, with Hunter still holding down the No. 1 spot. The 2024 Heisman winner is followed by Abdul Carter at No. 2.
Here are the top 10 prospects on Yates' board:

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
- Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
- Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
- Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
- Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
- Will Campbell, OT/G, LSU
- Cam Ward, QB, Miami
- Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
- Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
- Jalon Walker, Edge/LB, Georgia
- Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Yates did note he believes Hunter can maximize his ceiling in the NFL as a wide receiver, but he "will be great on either side of the ball" if he primarily plays at cornerback.
No one seems to have any concern that Carter's injuries are going to be a problem in the NFL. He missed the scouting combine due to a stress reaction in his foot that didn't require surgery, then didn't work out at Penn State's pro day on Friday while rehabbing a shoulder injury.
Yates noted that Carter is the only other player in consideration for the No. 1 spot on his board after Hunter.
"He has incredible first-step quickness and can bend the edge extremely well," Yates wrote. "Carter brings versatility to the table, too, having also played extensively as a standup linebacker at Penn State."
There has been no movement in the top four on Yates' board since releasing his top 32 prospects coming out of the Super Bowl.
LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell jumped one spot from that initial big board. Cam Ward, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans, is slowly moving up with each new ranking.
Yates originally had the Miami quarterback ranked outside the top 10 at No. 12, then bumped him up to No. 7 in an update released on March 7. He is now at six and comfortably the top-ranked quarterback in the class.
Shedeur Sanders is the No. 2 signal caller at 16 overall. Jaxson Dart (No. 35) and Tyler Shough (No. 43) are the only other quarterbacks in the top 50.
Even though Hunter is regarded as the best player in the draft by many analysts, including B/R's NFL scouting department, there's a growing possibility he won't be a top-two pick.
B/R's NFL scouting department had Hunter going third to the New York Giants in its most recent mock draft, after Ward to the Titans and Sanders to the Cleveland Browns.
