Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward Rise on Field Yates' 2025 NFL Draft Big Board After Combine

Jack MurrayMar 7, 2025

The top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL draft class appear to be moving up the board.

Field Yates of ESPN released his latest daft rankings Friday following last week's NFL Scouting Combine. Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter held firm as the No. 1 and No. 2 prospects available. However, some movement came for quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, who both rose up Yates' big board.

Yates previously had Ward rated as the No. 12 prospect in the class, but he moved up to No. 7 in Friday's rankings. Sanders, meanwhile, moved up two spots from No. 19 to No. 17.

Following the combine, Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department projected the New York Giants to trade up to No. 1 and select Sanders, with Ward going off the board to the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall.

Ward threw for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2024 while leading the Miami Hurricanes to a 10-3 record. He was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and finished fourth in Heisman voting.

Sanders threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns in 2024 while leading Colorado to a 9-4 record. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

The draft will take place April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
