The induction ceremony will occur at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Friday, April 18, one day before the two-day WrestleMania 41 event is set to begin from Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. As WWE noted, Austin and Hart, who are both already WWE Hall of Famers, will be in attendance.
The Hart-Austin match was an unbelievable bout in which Stone Cold found himself cut and suffering considerable bleeding. It was a submission match featuring then UFC star (and future pro wrestler) Ken Shamrock as the special guest referee.
Hart eventually won after Austin passed out while in the Sharpshooter. Hart refused to break the hold, drawing the ire of the crowd. Meanwhile, fans appreciated Austin's heart, and he eventually came to and stunned a referee who tried to help him.
His anti-hero persona, which had previously come to root after winning the 1996 King of the Ring, really shone here and led to fans lauding him as a babyface. And so a double turn occurred (with Hart also turning heel), setting the stage for an eventful end to the 1990s that also saw the beginning of the Attitude Era.
Given the match's excellence and the long-term significance of that night's events, it's no surprise that it's the first-ever Immortal Moment inducted into the Hall of Fame.
