Logan Paul Responds to Video of Lionel Messi's Bodyguard Challenging Him to Fight

WWE Superstar and popular YouTuber Logan Paul responded Wednesday to soccer legend Lionel Messi's bodyguard challenging him to a boxing match.

In a video on his YouTube channel (h/t MMAFighting.com), Paul was initially dismissive of Yassine Cheuko, saying: "Tell him to get in line, bro. It's an MMA guy who thinks he can box, who thinks he's entitled to victory or attention because he's Messi's bodyguard. I've offered to fly people out before, he doesn't even deserve a fly out."

Paul followed up by suggesting that he would be open to fighting Cheuko, but only with a catch:

"It's like, bro, I'm here in Puerto Rico, if you want to pull up on me in Puerto Rico, you're more than welcome, bro. When I beat your ass, and it's a big when, not if, when I beat your ass, you've got to drink Prime. You've got to drink Prime, bro.

"I really would start to feel bad for Messi because he's going to lose this lawsuit, he's probably going to lose his bodyguard, because why the f--k would you hire a bodyguard if you get beat up by a YouTuber. The man is just losing everything—except the World Cup. Respect."

The lawsuit Paul is referencing is the one filed by Messi's drink company, Más+, against Paul's Prime Hydration.

Más+ alleged "anti-competitive" practices in the lawsuit, and Prime filed a countersuit, per MMAFighting.com.

In a video posted on X by Mail Sport on Wednesday, Cheuko called on Paul to accept his challenge "for the people."

Paul, 29, has enjoyed enormous success as a pro wrestler in WWE, but he also has some experience in the boxing ring.

He fought his Prime business partner, KSI, to a draw in a 2018 amateur bout and then lost to KSI by split decision in a pro fight in 2019.

Paul later faced legendary undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a non-scored bout in 2021, and he beat MMA fighter Dillon Danis by disqualification in 2023.

Paul's brother, Jake Paul, has developed into one of the biggest stars in boxing with an 11-1 record, including victories over former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, as well as former MMA fighters such as Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.

Logan has only dabbled in boxing, but given his following and the rivalry between Prime and Más+, there will undoubtedly be a ton of interest in a fight against Cheuko should Logan accept.
