Fifteen years after initially signing with WWE, Uso is now a world champion for the first time.
Jey is best known for his tag team excellence, as he has held 10 tag team titles during his WWE career, including eight with his twin brother, Jimmy Uso.
However, Jey began showing his singles chops while Jimmy was out due to injury in 2020, and upon joining forces with Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman began referring to him as "Main Event" Jey Uso.
Jey eventually reunited with Jimmy, but after leaving The Bloodline in 2023, Jey largely went off on his own and attempted to blaze his own trail as a singles star.
Although he briefly held the Intercontinental Championship last year, he fell just short in several other opportunities, including when he challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday Night's Main Event in January.
About one week after that, Jey entered the star-studded men's Royal Rumble match in hopes of earning another title shot.
Few expected him to have a chance given Reigns, John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins and several other big names were in the contest, but Uso shocked the pro wrestling world by last eliminating Cena to earn a world title match at WrestleMania.
It wasn't long before Jey chose Gunther as his opponent, and The Ring General subsequently aimed to make Uso's life miserable over the next several weeks.
Gunther even zip-tied Jey to the ropes and made him watch as he viciously beat Jimmy to a bloody pulp on a recent episode of Raw.
Ultimately, it was all worth it from Jey's perspective, as he overcame the odds and took down Gunther on The Grandest Stage of Them All to win one of the biggest prizes in wrestling.
