Wisconsin and Michigan were both big movers up in the AP poll, going up five and eight spots respectively, after crossing paths in the Big Ten title game. The Badgers took down UCLA and No. 7 Michigan State before falling to the Wolverines, who rebounded from a three-game losing streak to end the regular season and knocked off Purdue and Maryland en route to the final.
Texas A&M had the steepest fall from Week 19. The Aggies lost in double-overtime to Texas in the second round of the SEC tournament, with the AP voters sending them from 14th to 19th as a result.
Looking at the overall seeding for the Big Dance, Kentucky was a source of disagreement between the AP voters and selection committee.
The Wildcats were 18th in the AP poll but 11th in the committee's ranking. Whereas UK would be seeded fifth in the Big Dance with the AP's assessment, Mark Pope's squad is the No. 3 seed in the Midwest region.
It was the opposite story for Gonzaga, which is seeded eighth in the Midwest region and would likely face Houston in the second round. The Zags would've avoided the Cougars if they're position more closely mirrored their AP poll position (No. 24).
The First Four in the NCAA tournament tips off Tuesday and the first round gets underway Thursday with a full slate of games.
