Fantasy Baseball 2025 Sleepers: Top Pitchers and Sluggers to Target
The key to winning any fantasy league is to know which sleepers carry the most value, thus allowing managers to discover them deeper in their drafts without giving up production at key positions.
Ahead of the 2025 fantasy season and MLB Opening Day, find out which sleepers managers should keep their eyes on in pursuit of a league championship and all of the bragging rights that come with it.
Pete Crow-Armstrong, OF, Chicago Cubs
1 of 3
The evolution of Crow-Armstrong's bat as 2024 came to a close should give Cubs fans and fantasy managers alike plenty to be excited about in regard to the speedy outfielder.
Tristan Cockcroft of ESPN noted that the 22-year-old hit .284/.337/.466, with seven home runs and 28 RBI in the last two months of last season. It was a significant uptick in his offensive output, fueled by a change in his stance and an improved launch angle.
Assuming he picks up where he left off, Crow-Armstrong is a bargain with an ADP of 142. That he is fast enough to go from first to home and will swipe bags only adds to his value as a fantasy sleeper in 2025.
Oneil Cruz, SS/OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
2 of 3
Fans in Pittsburgh finally got their first taste of what a healthy Oneil Cruz looked like in 2024, when he played 142 games, delivered 140 hits, blasted 21 home runs, and drove in 76 RBIs.
His slugging percentage of .449 was his best since 2021.
The oft-injured 26-year-old has missed out on being the fantasy stud that so many expected him to be but last year, when healthy and off the IR, was able to give a preview of what he can do when active and consistently playing.
Taking Cruz his overall ADP of 41 may be a risk to some, and understandably so, but the upside is so considerable that one would be silly not to take a flier on him and hope for the best.
Clay Holmes, P, New York Mets
3 of 3
Former Yankees reliever Holmes is in the midst of a transition into starting pitcher and, as manager Carlos Mendoza announced, will be the team's starting pitcher on Opening Day in Houston.
That the Manager of the Year candidates in 2024 has that much trust in him to be the guy that takes the mound first this season is a testament to what Holmes has accomplished this spring, while making a conversion that is anything but simple.
In three starts, he played nine and two-thirds innings, shutting the opponents out and striking out 13.
If he can continue that relatively smooth transition, he will be one of the biggest steals of any fantasy draft considering his ADP of 246.
