Mother of Cody Rhodes 'Completely Shocked' By Cena Heel Turn

As the mother of Cody Rhodes and wife of the late Dusty Rhodes, Michelle Runnels has witnessed plenty of twists and turns in a wrestling ring. But even she couldn't believe her eyes when John Cena attacked Cody at Elimination Chamber.

"I was just shocked. Completely shocked," Runnels said to Sportskeeda's Bill Apter (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News). "I would have never, never thought that was going to happen. I mean, he was a friend of Cody's, and, of course, Dusty knew him, but I wouldn't call him a family friend. I would say, 'John, you should be ashamed of yourself. You had a beautiful career. Everybody loved you and now you're just an a--hole.'"

Cena isn't content to ride off into the sunset in what he has said will be his last year in the ring.

The 16-time world champion could've coasted on his legendary status, engaged in some midcard feuds, and helped to shine a spotlight on younger talent. Instead, he showed at Elimination Chamber he'll stop at nothing to get a record-setting 17th title reign.

Cena's heel turn was one of the most shocking moments on WWE television over the last few years. The irony is that it happened at a time when the goodwill toward him has probably never been higher. The fans who have long called for him to be a bad guy again were happy to cheer him as a babyface now and celebrate his legacy.

Instead, Cena set the stage for an eventful swan song.

Flair, Stratton Exchange Verbal Barbs on Social Media

Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair are on a collision course for WrestleMania 41 after Flair won the women's Royal Rumble match and challenged the champion.

The most recent escalation in their ongoing feud saw them brawl on SmackDown after Flair's victory over B-Fab.

Things didn't stop there, either.

Flair and Stratton went back and forth on social media Saturday morning, an exchange that began after Flair called the champ a knockoff from Temu. Things quickly turned personal:

WrestleMania is still a month out. That's a long time for the animosity between Flair and Stratton to continue building until they're finally squaring off in the ring.

Bayley, Perez to Extend Feud into Main Roster

Expect to see Bayley and Roxanne Perez cross paths once Perez has fully moved on from NXT.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp (via Mukherjee) reported that WWE intends to have Bayley and Perez feud, building on the storyline that originated in January. That's when Bayley returned to her old stomping ground and gave Perez a piece of her mind.

Another installment of the WWE draft is reportedly coming down the pike after WrestleMania, at which point Perez might be aligned with a different brand.

The company is positioning the 23-year-old to make a big impact on Raw or SmackDown. She lasted nearly an hour and eight minutes in the women's Royal Rumble match to set a new record. Then she competed in the women's Elimination Chamber match, a spot she earned by beating Raquel Rodriguez on Raw.

Pitting Perez against a four-time women's champion would undoubtedly help to elevate her for the fans who haven't been following her exploits in NXT.
