Triple H Responds After Tyrese Haliburton Makes Game-Winner In Custom WWE-Themed Shoes
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and WWE head of creative Triple H had an exchange Tuesday night on X after Haliburton made the game-winning play in a 115-114 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
With 3.1 seconds left in Tuesday's game, Haliburton nailed the game-tying three-pointer, plus he was fouled. The two-time All-Star hit the go-ahead free throw to complete the four-point play, and Indiana held on to win.
Prior to the game, the Pacers revealed that Haliburton was wearing shoes inspired by Triple H and his iconic D-Generation X faction:
Triple H suggested that the shoes may have aided Haliburton in his late-game heroics, and Haliburton responded with a nod to the DX catchphrase:
Haliburton is a longtime WWE fan who has been present for multiple WWE events in recent years, and he has even been part of the show at times.
Back in June on SmackDown at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Haliburton had a run-in with New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, just weeks after the Pacers eliminated the Knicks from the playoffs.
Brunson sided with LA Knight and wielded a steel chair, which caused Haliburton and Logan Paul to flee the ring.
More recently, Haliburton was part of the contract signing segment with Trick Williams and Ethan Page in NXT in September, and he helped Triple H hype up the Royal Rumble in Indianapolis as part of the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show.
The 25-year-old Haliburton is enjoying another highly productive season for the Pacers, averaging 18.5 points, 8.9 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
Indiana is also trending toward a second consecutive playoff appearance, as it is now tied with the Bucks for fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 36-28 record.
As for Triple H, he is essentially already in WWE's version of the playoffs, as WrestleMania 41 is just over one month away, making every Raw and SmackDown he books pivotal in terms of setting the stage for the biggest event of the year.
