Both Giulia and Vaquer made their WWE debuts in the summer of 2024, and it wasn't long before they both became champions in NXT.
Given that Giulia and Vaquer worked together before joining WWE, they were allies right off the bat and teamed together on multiple occasions over the fall, beating the likes of Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade, and Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.
However, both Giulia and Vaquer eventually set their sights on the NXT Women's Championship, which led to both of them competing in the women's Iron Survivor Challenge match at Deadline in December.
Giulia was victorious, making her the No. 1 contender for the NXT women's title, and she made good on her opportunity by defeating Perez at New Year's Evil in January.
With Giulia holding the NXT Women's Championship, Vaquer shifted her focus to the NXT Women's North American Championship after beating Jade, Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice to become No. 1 contender.
Vaquer became the third women's North American champion in NXT history when she defeated Henley at Vengeance Day last month, putting her and Giulia atop the NXT women's division.
On the Feb. 25 episode of NXT, Vaquer had her first successful title defense against Karmen Petrovic.
Afterward, Giulia made her way to the ring, and the two close friends debated who was truly the top women's champion in NXT.
In order to settle it once and for all, Giulia and Vaquer agreed to a winner-take-all match at Roadblock on one of the grandest stages in pro wrestling at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
By virtue of her victory, Vaquer is now both the NXT women's champion and NXT women's North American champion, although it is fair to wonder if she might vacate the North American title with Stand & Deliver on the horizon in April.
