Daniel Jeremiah: Cam Ward to Titans Legit Possibility; Browns Could Pass on QB at 2
The top of the 2025 NFL draft could be coming into focus after the scouting combine last week, with increased chatter that Cam Ward is firmly in the mix to the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 overall.
Appearing on Friday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah said there's a "legitimate possibility" Ward goes to the Titans.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Even though the Cleveland Browns have been connected to quarterbacks with the No. 2 pick, Jeremiah noted some people around the NFL think they could pass on the position early and have been doing "homework" on the second-tier signal-callers in the class as options later on.
The gap between Ward and every other quarterback in the 2025 class appears to be much bigger than originally thought. There was a time when it seemed like Shedeur Sanders could challenge him for the top spot in the rankings.
Sanders didn't earn a lot of glowing reviews following his team interviews at the combine. If Ward comes off the board at No. 1 overall, the Browns may not want to reach for the Colorado star if they don't have him ranked as that caliber of prospect.
Most mocks that have come out since the combine have paired Ward with the Titans. In a survey of five league executives conducted by The Athletic's Mike Sando, Ward was the consensus top pick for the Titans.
One executive did suggest Tennessee's front office could prefer Travis Hunter, especially if they were to have him focus on playing wide receiver. Penn State star Abdul Carter has also been frequently linked to the Titans. Even with the stress reaction in his foot that won't require surgery, there doesn't seem to be much concern his draft stock will be impacted.
The Titans have so many needs that they could go in any number of directions and it would make sense for them.
Cleveland's situation isn't that different than the Titans because there's not a starting-caliber quarterback on the roster, and given how things are going with Myles Garrett amid his trade request, the team may need to replace arguably the best defensive player in the NFL.
Other quarterback options in this class beyond Ward and Sanders include Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Will Howard. B/R's NFL scouting department has Ward (No. 9 overall) and Sanders (No. 18) ranked as the only quarterbacks in the top 32.
Howard is QB3 at No. 54 overall, followed by Dart (No. 58) and Milroe (No. 79). This shows just how steep the drop in talent is between the top two and everyone else. It wouldn't be a surprise if Ward and/or Sanders get pushed up boards as a result because of positional value, but the Browns may not want to pass on potential blue-chip talents at other spots to force a quarterback they aren't in love with that high in the draft.
