Roster Review
Have you ever wanted to find out who would win a match between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and John Cena? How about Chyna and Jade Cargill? Ever want to know if CM Punk could best Bret Hart or if Cody Rhodes could handle the unbridled energy of "Macho Man" Randy Savage?
Now you can find out the answers to those questions, thanks to a roster that features nearly every major star to ever set foot in a WWE ring.
WWE and 2K Games have assembled an Avengers-like roster of the best, boldest, brightest, and most historically significant Superstars in pro wrestling history.
It starts with Andre the Giant and The Wild Samoans, continues through the Federation Era with Hulk Hogan and Savage, makes a pit stop at the New Generation with Hart and Shawn Michaels, revs up in the Attitude Era with Austin and The Rock, and pushing forward through the Ruthless Aggression years, with Cena, Kurt Angle, and Eddie Guerrero.
As prevalent as the top stars and Hall of Famers are, the depth of the roster is equally as impressive. Diamond Dallas Page, Doink the Clown, and Eve Torres are all legends that fans can choose from, as are Three Minute Warning's Rosey and Jamal.
NXT is thoroughly represented, with stars as obvious as Oba Femi and Trick Williams holding down the top of the brand while Charlie Dempsey, Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, Lash Legends and Jakara Jackson, and Lexis King ensure the deepest representation of the black and silver brand yet.
When you throw in the recently announced downloadable content, which includes first-time appearances from Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Penta, you have a roster that makes it as easy for gamers to whoop ass with ol' Stone Cold as it is to show the grit and determination of a Carmelo Hayes or Pete Dunne as they advance thought he grind of WWE and on their way to championship gold.
Any game can present multiple new features and modes but if the roster isn't expansive and doesn't give gamers the opportunity to keep things fresh by way of selecting different Superstars, it will not hold their attention.
WWE and 2K have consistently worked to provide the deepest, most complete roster. This is the best roster ever in a pro wrestling video game.
New Online Option: MyGM
The MyGM mode is a favorite for fans who want to get in the weeds of operating a their own brand. It gives them the opportunity to build their roster, select arenas, production design, build cards to deliver fan satisfaction and viewership, and spend on free agents when necessary.
In 2025, it allows players to "take your show on the road and challenge friends worldwide," thanks to a multiplayer online option for up to four players.
Now fans can play against opposing general managers, trying to outdo them and provide the most fan-friendly product possible.
It adds a completely new wrinkle to the mode and an opportunity to build on what was already a successful part of the game.
