Dustin Rhodes: Cody Bring 'Hell' to John Cena, The Rock, Travis Scott After Injury
AEW star Dustin Rhodes provided a positive update Wednesday on his brother, Cody Rhodes, following an attack at the hands of John Cena, The Rock and rapper Travis Scott at Elimination Chamber on Saturday.
In a post on X, Dustin wrote that Cody will be "OK," before adding, "Hell is coming."
After Cena won the men's Elimination Chamber match on Saturday, Rhodes and The Rock made their way to the ring so that Cody could give his answer regarding whether he would sell his soul to The Final Boss.
After Cody declined, Cena hugged him, but it was all a ruse, as he hit Rhodes with a low blow at the behest of The Rock, cementing one of the biggest heel turns in pro wrestling.
Cena and The Rock took turns beating down Rhodes, as did Scott, who accompanied The Rock to the ring.
Scott appeared to punch Rhodes in the head or face at one point, which may have resulted in The American Nightmare suffering an injury.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlePurists), Scott is believed to be responsible for giving Rhodes a busted eardrum and a black eye during the segment.
Rhodes may have a chance to get some revenge on Scott at some point, as Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported after Elimination Chamber that Scott has been doing pro wrestling training and conversations have taken place regarding him having matches in WWE.
The most significant match on the horizon for Rhodes, however, is his WWE Championship defense against Cena at WrestleMania 41.
Given the enormity of the angle that saw Cena turn heel for the first time since 2003, all signs point toward Cena vs. Rhodes being the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
