J.J. Watt Jokes About Chili After Burnley Allows Goal to End Bengals Contract Bet
Legendary NFL edge rusher J.J. Watt won't be coming out of retirement after all.
After previously saying that he would "absolutely" honor his bet with Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford that he'd sign a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals if he didn't allow a goal for the rest of the English League Championship season, Watt can rest easy after Trafford surrendered a goal against Cardiff City on Tuesday. It's the first goal the 22-year-old has allowed in the last 13 games.
After Cardiff City's goal, Watt took to social media to joke about Cincinnati's famous chili dish:
Watt later posted a message to the city of Cincinnati:
"Cincinnati, that was a fun ride," Watt wrote on X. "Hope you enjoyed getting to know a bit about Burnley & our squad."
Now that the bet is off, Watt will get back to focusing on his second career as an NFL analyst for CBS.
Burnley has another 11 fixtures left on its Championship schedule, so Trafford will try to put together another shutout streak before the end of the year.
