Peter Schrager: Cam Ward 'Solidified' as No. 1 QB over Shedeur Sanders in NFL Draft
Following the NFL Scouting Combine, it sounds like there's more clarity about the top prospects in this year's draft class.
During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, NFL Network's Peter Schrager reported that Miami quarterback Cam Ward firmly established himself as the best player at his position over Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and the rest of the signal-callers.
"I think Cam Ward is solidified as the No. 1 quarterback in this draft. ... I'm not saying that he's the best quarterback in this draft. He will be the first quarterback selected in this draft, and that's how it's looking going into pro days and free agency and the rest," Schrager said around the 3:45 mark.

Neither Ward nor Sanders participated in throwing drills during the combine, but their interviews produced contrasting results.
By most accounts, Ward seemed to give all the right answers when speaking to reporters and NFL scouts. However, Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reported on Sunday that "teams are cooling on Shedeur Sanders for a number of reasons."
It appears that Ward has a clear path to being the first quarterback selected in next month's draft, and he potentially put himself in consideration to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans.
