Phillies' Trea Turner Trolls Blue Jays' Max Scherzer by Challenging 1st Pitch of Game
Max Scherzer isn't a fan of MLB's automated ball-strike challenge system, telling reporters last week that he would prefer to be judged by humans.
So Trea Turner—who saw those comments—chose to have a bit of fun at Scherzer's expense on Sunday, challenging a clear strike on the first pitch of the game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays.

"Nobody believed I was going to do it," Turner told reporters about his plan to troll Scherzer. "So I said, 'Why not? I don't care.'"
Scherzer, to his credit, was entertained by the entire situation.
"Just some good heat going on behind the scenes there," he told reporters. "Trea and I, we're good friends, so we'll have a laugh. They're just messing with me. There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes there. I can't take these at-bats seriously. These are practice games going against good friends of mine. Too many good stories together and Trea is obviously one of my favorite teammates of all time."
Oh, and the pitch was upheld as a strike, in case you were wondering.
