NFL Draft Rumors: Titans Like Cam Ward 'A Lot' Amid Trade Buzz Around No. 1 Pick

Zach BacharMar 2, 2025

The Tennessee Titans are extremely fond of Miami quarterback Cam Ward and could choose him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, according to Sportskeeda's Tony Pauline.

"At the same time, I'm told by league sources that the Tennessee Titans in fact like Cam Ward a lot," Pauline wrote on Sunday. "Hence if Tennessee can't swing a deal to move out of the top spot, Ward could very likely end up with the franchise."

On Saturday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed that there is "real interest from several teams" in trading up with the Titans for the No. 1 pick.

It makes sense for Tennessee to stand pat and let other front offices start a bidding war for the top pick leading up to the first day of the draft on April 24, but the team doesn't seem to be opposed to remaining atop the board and adding Ward.

The 22-year-old is coming off an impressive senior season with the Hurricanes, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions.

He also rushed for 204 yards and four more scores.

The Titans were projected to add Ward with the No. 1 pick in the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

"Ward gives head coach Brian Callahan a physically gifted and natural passer to further develop toward his high ceiling," B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson wrote.

While the Titans may continue fielding trade offers as the draft draws closer, they're reportedly open to staying at No. 1 and selecting Ward.
