ESPN's Pat McAfee revealed on Thursday that he spoke to a "source(s)" that confirmed the star tight end would be returning for his 13th season in the NFL.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach previously confirmed that the team was planning for Kelce to return ahead of the 2025 season, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.

The 10-time Pro Bowl tight end is set to enter the final year of his current contract and will carry a $19.8 million cap hit in 2025, via Spotrac. His deal contains an $11.5 million roster bonus on March 15.

Kelce was initially noncommittal regarding his NFL future following Kansas City's 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Now, he appears to be targeting a return.

Mahomes and Kelce have already proven themselves as one of the greatest duos in NFL history, winning three championships since they've been teammates starting with the 2017 season.

Since Mahomes took over as the Chiefs' full-time starter in 2018, Kelce amassed 8,251 receiving yards and 55 touchdowns in seven seasons. The signal-caller has also excelled, winning two MVP awards and earning six Pro Bowl nods.

Mahomes and Kelce have connected for 17 touchdowns in the playoffs, which represents the most all-time by a quarterback and receiver duo.

With the star tight end's reported return to help the Chiefs avenge their Super Bowl defeat, Mahomes is already looking forward to what could be their final season as teammates.
