Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE programming Tuesday night, squaring off with No Quarter Catch Point's Myles Borne and Tavion Heights in NXT.
The reigning TNA world tag team champions successfully defended their titles in what very may not be their final appearance with the promotion.
WrestleVotes reported there is internal optimism that the legendary tandem will have a main roster program at some point later this year.
The tag team division within WWE has been a point of contention for some fans, with many pointing to the lack of screen time or development of teams.
However, we have seen an uptick in exposure for the division on SmackDown while Raw has featured American Made, The Judgment Day and The War Raiders in prominent spots of late.
Adding star power the magnitude of the Hardys will only serve to enhance the divisions and shine a brighter light on them.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez became the first three-time women's tag team champions Monday night on Raw, defeating Bianca Belair and Naomi to capture the titles in a critically acclaimed, high-drama main event.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite reported that the company was very happy with the match and is expected to book the pair strongly heading into WrestleMania 41.
WWE should be happy with the contest as it was a highly competitive, gritty bout that kept the fans guessing who emerge victorious and relishing every near-fall and false finish.
The victory was the latest in a defining year for Morgan, who rose to the top of Raw post-WrestleMania 40 and has become one of the central figures on the red brand ever since.
Booking her and Rodriguez strongly is a wise decision and will also benefit whichever team is selected to dethrone them when that time comes.
Update on Giulia vs. Stephanie Vaquer

NXT fans were surprised to hear general manager Ava announce a champion vs. champion, title-for-title match between NXT women's champion Giulia and women's North American champion Stephanie Vaquer for Roadblock on March 11.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live reported that the match is happening because one of the competitors is injured and in need of time off.
Johnson noted it is Giulia who is currently dealing with an unspecified injury.
Assuming that is the case, it's a major blow for both the 31-year-old and the NXT women's division, which has been rolling since the arrival of both competitors and was enhanced further with the debut of ex-TNA Knockouts champ Jordynne Grace.
Vaquer vs. Giulia is a dream match that has been hinted at from the moment the two first shared the squared circle, but one that seemingly would have been better saved for Stand & Deliver on April 19.
However, NXT staging the contest at Roadblock underlines the urgency with which the brand is looking to move the title due to the injury.
