NFL RBs Coach: Ashton Jeanty Will Be 'Immediate Superstar,' Won't Fall Past No. 20
One NFL running backs coach believes Boise State star Ashton Jeanty will be an "immediate superstar" in the NFL.
"Love the kid. There’s no way he falls outside the top 15-20 picks," the coach said to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. "He reminds me of a taller Maurice Jones-Drew. Bowling ball with speed. Guy will be an immediate superstar."
Jeanty made Boise State games must-watch television during his junior season. He finished with 2,601 rushing yards, the second-most in a single year, along with 30 total touchdowns.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In a previous generation, the 5'9", 215-pound ball-carrier would be a lock for a top-five pick. At a time when running backs are no longer the focal point of an offense, it's rare for one to even get selected in the top 10.
Jeanty could be an exception to the rule. He's the No. 9 overall player on Bleacher Report's big board, and B/R NFL scout Dame Parson compared him to 2009 Pro Bowler DeAngelo Williams.
"Overall, Ashton Jeanty is a high-volume and playmaking running back," Parson said. "Between his bowling ball-esque frame and innate contact balance, Jeanty's game translates incredibly well to the NFL. He fits today's run offenses with wide zone and pin-pull gap schemes. Jeanty is a bell-cow running back who can shoulder the load for an NFL rushing attack."
Fans and teams will have to wait until Boise State's pro day to see Jeanty work out since he's declining to do any drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.
That's unlikely to dent his draft stock at all because the tape and the numbers speak for themselves.
