After their appearance on Tuesday night's episode of NXT, there reportedly may be more plans in the works for the Hardy Boyz in WWE.
According to WrestleVotes, there is some internal "buzz" within WWE about Tuesday's appearance being "just the beginning" with respect to the Hardys working with the company.
WrestleVotes added that creative sources in WWE are "optimistic" Matt and Jeff Hardy will take part in a program on the main roster at some point in the spring or summer.
The Hardy Boyz first made a name for themselves in WWE, and they returned to the company in 2017, but Matt left the company for AEW in 2020, and Jeff followed suit about two years later.
Last year, Matt and Jeff made the move from AEW to TNA, and now that TNA has an official partnership with WWE, it opened the door for the Hardys to go back to the company where they established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time.
On Tuesday's NXT, the Hardys came to the ring wearing new WWE-produced Hardy Boyz shirts, which suggests they could have some type of agreement with WWE on top of their TNA deals.
Matt and Jeff defeated No Quarter Catch Crew, after which they had a promo segment with NXT tag team champions Fraxiom.
They agreed to a match against each other, and it was later announced that the Hardy Boyz will put the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line against Fraxiom in two weeks at NXT Roadblock.
Given the Hardys' popularity and history in WWE, it only makes sense that the promotion is already looking ahead to what more it can do with the legendary tag team.
WWE Reportedly Wants Orton Involved with WrestleMania
Randy Orton has been out of action since November, but that reportedly could soon change with WrestleMania 41 on the horizon.
According to Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), WWE has "wanted [Orton] involved in WrestleMania," although it isn't clear what plans may be in the works.
Sapp speculated that Orton could potentially get involved with the unsanctioned match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber on Saturday to set something up for WrestleMania.
After Owens turned on Cody Rhodes back in October, KO and Orton entered into a rivalry, as Orton tried to stop Owens from attacking his longtime friend in Rhodes.
That resulted in Owens temporarily turning his attention toward Orton, and there was even a match scheduled between them for Crown Jewel in November.
The match never happened since they brawled around the arena, and The Viper called out Owens on the ensuing episode of SmackDown.
KO responded by hitting Orton with a piledriver, which resulted in him getting stretchered out of the building.
Orton has been on WWE programming ever since to sell the effects of the storyline injury. Owens went on to unsuccessfully challenge Rhodes for the WWE Championship in a ladder match at Royal Rumble, and he has since set his sights on Zayn after blaming him for not helping against Rhodes.
If there are plans in place for Orton to return in time for WrestleMania, having him get involved in Owens vs. Zayn on Saturday would be a logical move.
Fraxiom Reportedly Planned for WWE Call-Up After WrestleMania
Since first joining forces in 2023, Nathan Frazer and Axiom have arguably cemented themselves as the best tag team in pro wrestling, and they could soon take their fast-paced action to an even bigger stage.
According to WrestleVotes on Backstage Pass (h/t Mukherjee), Fraxiom are ticketed for a main roster call-up some time this spring after WrestleMania 41.
Frazer and Axiom are two-time NXT tag team champions, and with the exception of an 18-day Chase U reign in between, they have essentially been the champs for 10 months.
Because of their athleticism and in-ring acumen, Frazer and Axiom have been the perfect mix as a team, and it is difficult to come up with any tag team in the world that had a better 2024 in terms of match quality and overall success.
On Tuesday's episode of NXT, Fraxiom confronted the Hardy Boyz after their victory over No Quarter Catch Crew.
A challenge was laid down and it was later made official that the Hardys will defend the TNA World Tag Team Championships against Fraxiom at NXT Roadblock in two weeks.
Depending on the result of that match, a Fraxiom vs. Hardys rematch could potentially be in the cards for Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend.
Fraxiom have little left to prove and few opponents left to face in NXT at this point, so it may soon be the right time to see what they can do on Raw or SmackDown.
