Video: Shedeur Sanders Explains Decision to Not Throw at Combine Before 2025 NFL Draft
Colorado star and widely projected top-five pick Shedeur Sanders opted not to work out at this week's NFL combine and will instead throw at Colorado's Pro Day at a later date.
On his podcast, Sanders explained that he still wants to work on some things before throwing in front of scouts.
"It was a lot going into the decision to not throw," Sanders said on 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders (2:40 mark). "I'm on a strict program of when I'm going to be ready for everything. We're definitely gaining weight right now, maintaining, we want to be able to be consistent throwing the ball. It's a lot of factors that go into just waking up and throwing. You just don't roll out your bed and throw. It's different areas you want to fix and critique and get better at when it comes to having to showcase in front of the public."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
While Sanders won't throw in front of scouts at the combine, he's got plenty of film to show what he's capable of. His numbers with the Buffaloes also jump out as he had 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdown in his final year at Colorado.
Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department projects Sanders to go to the New York Giants with the No. 3 pick in their latest mock draft.
There's been plenty of debate over whether he or Miami star quarterback Cam Ward should be the first quarterback off the board, and Sanders could make a strong case for himself by interviewing well at the combine and putting together a strong performance at Colorado's Pro Day.
