Report: Shedeur Sanders Won't Work Out at NFL Combine; Will Throw at Colorado Pro Day
Shedeur Sanders is letting his film do the talking heading into the NFL Scouting Combine.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that the Colorado product will not throw in Indianapolis and will instead "focus on his interviews with teams … helping them continue to learn him as a person."
The plan would then be to throw during his Pro Day with Colorado wide receivers.

While he won't throw at the combine, Sanders still promises to be one of the first players selected at the draft in part because of his own talent and in part because of the lack of surefire top quarterback prospects.
In fact, B/R's NFL Scouting Department mock draft from earlier this month included just two first-round quarterbacks in Sanders going No. 3 overall to the New York Giants and Miami's Cam Ward going No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
New York selecting Sanders if he is available would come as no surprise, as the NFC East team cycled through Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito in 2024 on the way to a 3-14 record. Jones was supposed to be the franchise quarterback as the No. 6 pick of the 2019 NFL draft, but he didn't live up to expectations and is no longer on the team.
The combine won't be the first time Sanders is meeting with teams.
Eric Edholm of NFL.com noted he attended the East-West Shrine Bowl and met with multiple teams even though he didn't practice or play in the game. Edholm also pointed out Sanders was heard saying he has top-30 visits scheduled with the Cleveland Browns and Giants in a video posted by Well Off Media, his older brother Deion Sanders Jr.'s YouTube channel.
Still, there are surely some teams that would prefer Sanders to throw before potentially making him the face of the franchise.
Those teams may place more stock than usual in the Pro Day performance since he is not throwing at the combine, which will put Sanders under more pressure to perform.
Of course, they can also look at his film from 2024 when he won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year while completing 74 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
That type of production suggests good things may be in store at the next level even though he won't throw in Indianapolis.
