Elimination Chamber Match That Needs Blood, Go Big with a Fresh Face, More Raw Takes

Kevin BergeFeb 18, 2025

The February 17 edition of Raw on Netflix set the final participants in Elimination Chamber and announced a huge new match for the premium live event on March 1.

Seth Rollins defeated Finn Bálor in a wild main event to join John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul and Damian Priest in the men's Elimination Chamber match.

Roxanne Perez upset Raquel Rodriguez to qualify for the women's EC match in Toronto alongside Liv Morgan, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Naomi and Alexa Bliss.

Sami Zayn opened Monday's show at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina to declare his desire for revenge against Kevin Owens.

AJ Styles defeated Dominik Mysterio and avoided an attack from intercontinental champion Bron Breakker, setting the stage for a future title match.

This show set the stage for a spectacular event in Toronto while also paving a clearer road to WrestleMania 41.

Let Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Bleed in Toronto

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens is one of WWE's greatest feuds, delivering time and again on big action and memorable stories.

Through it all, fans have not seen these two battle in a match as brutal as the Unsanctioned match they are booked for at Elimination Chamber.

This is a chance to deliver a contest unlike anything these two have had before on the main roster. And that begins with a rare sight in WWE: blood.

While WWE no longer bans blood in matches, it is rare to see outside of an accidental injury.

When used well, blood can amplify the drama of a hardcore clash. In this case, Zayn bleeding due to the brutality of KO would make fans root for him all the more in a difficult fight.

Whether The Ultimate Underdog manages to overcome the intensity of The Prizefighter or falls just short, the fight will be remembered for years to come with a crimson mask at the crucial moment.

Best Options to Win Both Elimination Chamber Matches

Monday Night RAW

With the fields set for the men's and women's Elimination Chamber matches, it is time to speculate on who will win and earn a world title shot.

While there will be no bad option to face Cody Rhodes inside the Chamber, the most obvious winner would be John Cena or CM Punk.

However, the most interesting choice is Drew McIntyre. After a career-defining rivalry with The Best in the World, he is ready to go for more gold.

Rhodes and the Scot have history that stretches back to their first runs with WWE. Both are delivering the best work of their careers and can tell a story like no one else in the business.

Meanwhile, it's more difficult to pick out an easy answer for who should challenge Rhea Ripley, but that is only because there are multiple intriguing options.

As long as Liv Morgan does not emerge as the winner, Mami will have a fresh challenger for WrestleMania 41.

The most exciting option is Bianca Belair. WWE has kept these powerhouses apart for much of their WWE careers despite coming up in the same NXT class.

They were friends who never got to be rivals, and The Show of Shows would be the perfect stage to let them tell their story.

AJ Styles Will Elevate Bron Breakker to Next Level

Monday Night RAW

For most of 2024, WWE has not had AJ Styles, and it was obvious that he was missing in key moments. It's hard to replace a talent at his level.

The Phenomenal One is still getting back into his best form, but few can match him, even at 80 percent of his best.

Styles will likely step up his game all the way to WrestleMania, and he seems to be set to collide with intercontinental champion Bron Breakker.

WWE may have them fight for the first time before The Show of Shows, but they should not avoid a collision at 'Mania as well.

This feud has the potential for multiple contests and could lead to career-best work from Breakker, working with a man who will push him to his limit.

Styles has delivered a unique set of 'Mania matches over his career. This will be his most straightforward opportunity to elevate his opponent, testing Breakker's ceiling in the ring.

WWE Must Go Big With Roxanne Perez

4 of 4

Roxanne Perez has finally debuted on Raw. While Monday was her second match on the red brand, she previously competed as a member of the NXT roster.

Defeating Raquel Rodriguez in the women's Elimination Chamber qualifier was a major statement, putting her in the mix with the top woman on the main roster from Day 1.

The Prodigy has earned that opportunity after elevating the entire NXT women's division through her 276-day reign as NXT women's champion.

She competed on more NXT premium live events than anyone else and has left a legacy Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace will hope to match together.

At 23 years old, WWE has plenty of time to push Perez, but the women's division needs her to be a top name right away.

She does not need to win in the Elimination Chamber, but she must back up her record-setting Royal Rumble appearance with another strong performance.

Much like Tiffany Stratton last year, she needs to take that world title jump in her first year on the main roster, possibly even winning the women's Money in the Bank briefcase as well.

Perez has the talent to work with everyone from Rhea Ripley to Charlotte Flair, and the more WWE relies on her, the better the results will be in the long term.
