C.J. Stroud Resumes Throwing at Texans Minicamp, HC Ryans Says QB Is 'Good to Go'
There were questions about whether Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was injured after he didn't do much throwing during voluntary OTAs, but any worries can be alleviated.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters on Tuesday that Stroud will be throwing without any restrictions during mandatory minicamp this week.
"He’ll be good to go. No concerns on my end there," Ryans said.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Stroud played in all 17 games during the regular season, but his production dipped from his stellar rookie season. He produced 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, dropping from 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and just five picks in 2023 to earn Offensive Rookie of the Year honors that year.
Despite Stroud's slight regression, the Texans finished with a 10-7 record and won the AFC South for the second straight year. Houston opened the playoffs against the Los Angeles Chargers and earned a 32-12 win before losing 23-14 to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round. Stroud completed 67.2 percent of his passes in the postseason for 527 yards, a touchdown and an interception while also adding 84 rushing yards.
While Stroud was able to stay healthy throughout the year, the Texans lost multiple key players to injuries. Star receivers Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, two of Stroud's top targets, were lost for the season after suffering torn ACLs.
The No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, Stroud is one of the most promising young talents in the league. He's shown impressive leadership qualities and resilience, giving the Texans a cornerstone to build around for the foreseeable future.
If Stroud is forced to miss time at any point, Houston would turn to backup quarterback Davis Mills to lead the offense until he's able to return.
