Cavaliers vs. Warriors: Live Score and Highlights for 2015 NBA Finals Game 5

Matthew SchmidtJun 14, 2015

You wanted a signature NBA Finals moment from Stephen Curry? You got it.

Curry scored 17 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter of Game 5 to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 104-91 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena on Sunday night, giving his team a 3-2 lead in the Finals.

The Warriors overcame a 40-point, 14-rebound, 11-assist effort from LeBron James to earn the win.

This contest was tight until the fourth quarter.

The two ballclubs traded blows in the first half, and by halftime, Golden State held a slim 51-50 lead. It then outscored the Cavaliers, 22-17, in the third period to take a 73-67 advantage into the final 12 minutes.

James refused to let Cleveland go quietly, making a couple of huge three-pointers to put the Cavs in front, 80-79.

That was when Curry took over.

The MVP dominated down the stretch, weaving through the defense for layups, hitting inhuman step-back triples and making free throws to seal the deal.

The Warriors also got clutch play from Andre Iguodala, who nailed an enormous three-pointer and hit a circus state to give Golden State a seven-point lead. His paltry free-throw shooting (2-of-11 from the line) helped keep the Cavaliers in the game, but there never seemed to be any doubt that the Dubs would win once Curry got going.

Curry shot 13-of-23 overall, making seven of his 13 three-point tries.

By contrast, James went 15-of-34 and made just seven of his 19 field-goal attempts in the second half.

The Warriors shot 48 percent from the floor and went 12-of-26 from deep.

The Cavaliers made just 40 percent of their shots and hit on 12 of their 35 long-range tries.

Game 6 is on Tuesday night at Quicken Loans Arena. Catch all of the action at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
