Warren Sapp Pleads Guilty to Solicitation, Assault: Latest Details and Reaction
Ex-NFL player and Hall of Famer Warren Sapp reportedly cut a plea deal after a Feb. 2 incident that included soliciting prostitutes and assaulting them after a disagreement over money.
According to TMZ Sports, the deal does not involve any jail time and requires that Sapp "must complete [two] counseling programs—the first is a 'Prostitution Solicitation Diversion Program' ... the [second] is essentially an anger management course," noting that he already completed the first program.
Had he not completed that program within 160 days, he would have faced a 30-day jail sentence.

Also, per TMZ Sports, Sapp is working on completing the counseling program and could face a 30-day jail sentence and two years of probation if that isn't completed in a timely fashion. Finally, he owes "$150 to Quying Boyd and $1,171.24 to Britney Osbourne" in restitution following the incident.
Sapp was fired from his job at the NFL Network after the incident became public in February, though the plea deal he cut was less harsh than the "maximum penalty of $2,500 in fines, six months in jail, three years’ probation and mandatory 15 days in jail if convicted on the prostitution charge," per the Associated Press (via The Blade).
Sapp has had legal issues in the past, per the AP report, including a domestic battery charge in 2010 that was later dropped. He also filed for bankruptcy in 2012. He's had a bumpy post-NFL career after retiring from the league in 2008.
