T.J. Gibbs to Notre Dame: Fighting Irish Land 4-Star PG Prospect
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish added a big piece to their 2016 recruiting class Sunday, securing the commitment of 4-star point guard Temple "T.J." Gibbs.
"I just really fell in love with the campus and everything that was going on there," said Gibbs, per Scout's Evan Daniels. "I felt comfortable and like I was at home. I definitely see how coach was really able to build up their guards. They had Jerian (Grant) and Demetrius (Jackson). Looking at all those guys, I can be one of those guys and fall right into line."
According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Gibbs is the No. 7 point guard in 2016 and the 44th-best player overall. Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop thinks the West Orange, New Jersey, native is a great addition for Notre Dame:

"Temple Gibbs gives Notre Dame a tough guard who can play on & off ball. A consistent shooter, he is the brother of Sterling & Ashton Gibbs.

ESPN.com's Adam Finkelstein envisions Gibbs leaving a lasting legacy in South Bend:
Gibbs is also the first commitment for head coach Mike Brey in 2016. He's starting out the class on a high note with Gibbs' imminent arrival.
Brey is doing a great job of creating an assembly line at point guard. With Grant graduating, Jackson will take a larger role on the court. And when it's time for Jackson to move on, Gibbs can take a starring role.
