5 Possible Striker Signings That Would End Borussia Dortmund's Scoring Troubles
Borussia Dortmund will undoubtedly undergo a major rebuild this summer when Jurgen Klopp departs the club and hands the keys to the incoming replacement, Thomas Tuchel.
The new manager will arrive with a squad that's perfectly capable of doing much better than what we've seen this summer. Yet, the former Mainz coach will surely have a few additions and possible departures in mind.
Should Tuchel dive into the transfer market, he may just be tempted to thumb through the goalscoring charts across the continent.
Dortmund unquestionably need a new forward alongside Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next season. Here are five who may just fit the bill.
1. Ciro Immobile

First things first: Dortmund already have a young, talented striker who goes by the name Ciro Immobile.
Fans of the side may let out a deep sigh and look the other way when he comes on for Klopp's side at the moment, but very few would argue that the Italian goalscorer has been given a fair chance since signing last summer.
Klopp's preference for long balls and a traditional target man has mean Immobile is often found struggling to adapt to the side when in fact it's the side that should be accomodating his style of play.
He may not have shown it this season, but this striker has all the talent to succeed in Germany. Perhaps he just needs the right manager to come in, rejig the tactics and allow him to play his game.
2. Mauro Icardi

From one end of the Dortmund budget to the other, we now take a look at Inter Milan's key goalscorer, Mauro Icardi.
The Argentinian forward is undoubtedly one of the hottest talents in European football the moment, with 18 goals in the SerieA this season, and would make an immediate impact at the German side.
Whether Dortmund could afford him is another question entirely. We've seen the side spend big on the likes of Henirkh Mkhitaryan, yet the Inter talent would demand wages that could potentially put Tuchel's team off.
Regardless, he'd make an exceptional signing.
3. Carlos Bacca

Another option for the Bundesliga side could possibly be Carlos Bacca, who's currently ripping up the Spanish top division with Sevilla.
The 28-year-old forward has scored no less than 20 goals in La Liga this season and would offer a physical approach to Dortmund's rather lightweight front line.
The Colombian international is a pure and simple goalscorer who can be found wrestling with defenders in the six-yard box. A poacher who would find exceptional success if planted at the front of Dortmund's attack.
4. Paulo Dybala

If Tuchel is intent on sticking by the fast-paced, attacking football that brought so much success to Klopp's side over the years, another option may well be Paulo Dybala.
The 21-year-old sensation from Palermo has 13 SerieA goals to his name this season, but what he offers aside from putting the ball in the back of the net is what truly makes him an exceptional player.
Fast, skilled and a curator of every trick in the book, Dybala wouldn't look out of place alongside Marco Reus & Co. by any means.
Kevin Volland
5 of 5
Although Kevin Volland may have cost Dortmund two points on Saturday with his wonderful goal, most fans would have been watching on with envy in their eyes rather than sheer disappointment for conceding a goal.
The Hoffenheim forward has spent much of this season playing on the right, yet he has still managed to pick up nine goals over the course of the campaign.
Quick, broad-shouldered and impeccably talented at finishing a move with the ball in the back of the net, Volland is a player who'll undoubtedly have a number of clubs interested in his signature this summer.
Dortmund could do much worse than such a striker who has already proven himself at their level.
