Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Best MLB Position Player Picks for May 3
Sunday funday in the MLB features several aces trotting out for huge matchups with interleague teams and several other rivals. But with the bats they are facing, there are several offensive players ripe for the picking.
Leading up to the Sunday slate, here's a look at the best targets for DraftKings owners on Sunday afternoon.
First Baseman: Chris Davis, Baltimore Orioles ($4,500)

Chris Davis has been on a tear recently, and he's bound to thrive again on Sunday.
Not only does he have three home runs over his last six games played, but Davis has a great matchup on Sunday as a left-handed hitter. Facing off against Nathan Karns, a right-hander, look for Crush to do just that against the Orioles.
Don't believe me? Believe this: Davis has an average of 11.4 fantasy points in DraftKings at home compared to 5.4 on the road. Camden Yards isn't big enough to hold the power of Davis, making him a lock for fantasy owners.
Second Baseman: Addison Russell, Chicago Cubs ($3,600)
Oh hi, Addison Russell. So nice of you to finally start showing off that potential at the MLB level. Russell extended a five-game hitting streak on Saturday with a single and remains a consistent middle infielder for the Chicago Cubs.
More importantly for owners, he's scored double-digit fantasy points in three of those five games. At $3,600, he's nearly a guarantee to tally decent numbers and, if he can tee off on Jimmy Nelson, outplay his value to clear up salary for other top position players.
Third Baseman: Matt Carpenter, St. Louis Cardinals ($4,700)
Matt Carpenter has a disease: He just can't stop hitting doubles. The St. Louis Cardinals star third baseman had seven doubles in his last 10 games before Saturday. Even when he went hitless against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Carpenter still helped owners with a walk and an RBI.
When Carpenter comes to the plate, he simply gets the job done, as the Cardinals' official account points out:
His game-winning RBI was sweet, but he'll need to produce again on Sunday against the Pirates and Vance Worley. In six at-bats against Worley, Carpenter has fours singles, two RBI and—you guessed it—a double.
Shortstop: Starlin Castro, Chicago Cubs ($4,000)
When it comes to consistency at the shortstop position, Starlin Castro has been one of the best targets this season. He might not have shown that on Saturday, going 0-for-4 without reaching base, but he's still had two multi-hit games in his last four starts.
His clip against Nelson is only a small sample, with two hits in five at-bats against him. However, with Nelson struggling in his last outing, Castro will pounce on Sunday. Though he doesn't have any homers at Wrigley Field this year, look for him to still hit for power against Nelson.
Outfielder: Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels ($5,300)
My editor says I have to offer explanation here as to why you should choose Mike Trout, as if it's not obvious. The 2014 National League MVP comes at a lower price than four other outfielders on Sunday despite his six-game surge.
During those six games, Trout has 20 or more fantasy points in four of those outings. He's also facing Tim Lincecum, who has struggled in interleague play with a 9-11 record and 4.34 ERA. The Freak might be showing more consistency this season, but Trout will shell Lincecum and shine for fantasy owners.
