NFL Draft Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Before Round 1 of 2015 Draft
The time before the NFL draft is usually loaded with misinformation, but nuggets of truth often sneak through the cracks.
As we approach the moment when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are officially on the clock with the No. 1 pick, there are plenty of rumors flying around regarding many of the top prospects in the draft. Although not all of these possibilities will come true, they provide a look into the mindset of each franchise heading into an important moment of the offseason.
Here is a look at the latest buzz surrounding the league going into the first round of the 2015 NFL draft.
No. 2 Pick Up for Grabs

With the Buccaneers appearing likely to select Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick, the question now moves toward the Tennessee Titans and what will happen at No. 2.
Although they have a chance of selecting Marcus Mariota or a handful of talented defensive players, they could also deal the pick. According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, the front office is listening to possible trades:
While Wyatt noted a potential trade with the San Diego Chargers had been rumored, general manager Ruston Webster shot those down.
However, there are plenty of other teams interested in making a move up in the draft. That list includes the Cleveland Browns, according to Pat McManamon of ESPN:
"The Cleveland Browns have discussed trading with the Tennessee Titans to move up to the second spot in the NFL draft so the Browns can take quarterback Marcus Mariota, a source familiar with the discussions said Wednesday.
The Browns, according to the source, made an offer to the Titans that includes the team's two first-round picks—12th and 19th overall.
"
This would be a bit of a surprise considering the Browns spent a first-round pick on Johnny Manziel just last season. While there were some struggles, this would be incredibly quick to give up on a player of his upside.
At the same time, the Titans are a team that could use a young quarterback like Mariota if he's an option. Unless a huge offer comes on the table, Tennessee might be better off holding onto the pick.
Jaguars Full of Surprises

A year after selecting Blake Bortles with the No. 3 pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars might surprise again. Selecting again with the No. 3 pick, one personnel man believes they will take receiver Amari Cooper, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports:
"I think the third spot could shock people [again]. I think they like [Amari] Cooper more than they are letting on. You hear things and they have been pretty good about what's getting out there. It's a lot like it was last year.
[...]
Maybe Cooper is the best player in the draft. If that's the case, you make two positions better with that pick—and one of the positions you're improving is the most important in the game.
"
The last part explains why a team like the Jaguars would select Cooper, who will likely end up in the top 10 no matter what. A polished receiver like this could dramatically help out Bortles as he looks to reach his potential in the NFL.
The problem with this logic is Jacksonville already added a quality receiving target in tight end Julius Thomas to go with young receivers like Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson. Spending a high pick on another player at the same position might be overkill.
It might be a smarter plan to go after one of the top defensive linemen also available within the top few picks.
Todd Gurley Going Early
After seeing running backs devalued in the draft in recent years, it would be surprising to see a team draft a player at that position early in the first round. This is especially true for Todd Gurley, who is recovering from a torn ACL last season with Georgia.
Despite these issues, many believe the running back will be taken in the top half of the first round and possibly earlier.
According to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins "would love for him to fall to them at No. 14 in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday. But some doubt he will even make it out of the top 10."
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com notes some teams are extremely high on Gurley right now:
In his recent notebook, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller provided some insight from both perspectives by noting, "I asked two scouts this week. One replied, 'Top 10 wouldn't shock me.' The other? 'I'm really not buying all this top 10 talk.' Welcome to draft season."
Even if some teams don't quite believe in the running back, it only takes one general manager to make the call Thursday. This makes it seem likely Gurley will be off the board quickly.
