Crowder Diagnosed with Sprained ACL
Monday, April 27
According to the Celtics, Crowder's MRI revealed a sprained left ACL.
The Celtics' official Twitter account announced the news of his injury on Sunday, noting he left Game 4 against the Cavs with a knee sprain and would not return.
Crowder was involved in two scuffles during the game, as Kendrick Perkins pushed him after a physical battle on the block, and J.R. Smith took a swing at him in a later play. Smith was ejected, and Crowder bent his knee awkwardly as he attempted to move out of the way of Smith's punch.
Crowder turned himself into a valuable role player for Boston since joining the team as a part of the Rajon Rondo trade, averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per game.
Of course, with the Cavaliers going on to eliminate the Celtics, Crowder's season has come to an end, allowing him time to heal up.
