Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In six NFL seasons with Houston and Philadelphia, the 30-year-old Casey has caught 72 passes for 842 yards with six touchdowns.
Casey first met with the Broncos in late February, per Mike Klis of The Denver Post.
The Broncos need depth at tight end after losing Julius Thomas in the offseason. Owen Daniels will likely be the starter with Dominique Jones as the backup.
However, according to Cecil Lammey of ESPN Denver, Casey's versatility could lead to him playing mostly at fullback with the Broncos:
Whatever role the Broncos have in mind for Casey, he's going to immediately feel comfortable with the team. Gary Kubiak, who is entering his first season as Denver's head coach, drafted Casey in the fifth round with Houston in 2009.
Casey's signing and ability to play fullback likely signal the way Kubiak wants to run the offense, as well as occasionally get an extra pass-blocker for Peyton Manning.
