Laura Keeley of the Charlotte Observer passed along comments from Allen on Wednesday:

For many folks, the notion that Allen would even consider entering the draft this season is a bit surprising. After all, Allen averaged 4.4 points and one rebound in 9.2 minutes per game this season. But after posting 16 points in 21 minutes against Wisconsin, Allen had folks buzzing.

Chad Ford of ESPN passed along this tweet earlier on Tuesday:

Allen was certainly a touted prospect before the season, and there's no questioning his talent. Still, the fact that he played a pretty minor role for the Blue Devils this season suggests that committing to another college season or two is a wise decision for Allen.

The national championship was certainly a taste of what might be to come. Allen, it would seem, would like to offer NBA teams a full course they can sample before he puts his name in the running in the draft.
