LaQuavius Cotton Wins 2015 College Slam Dunk Contest: Scores and Highlights
An octet of dunkers were on show in Indianapolis, Indiana, Thursday night, and Delta State Statesmen forward LaQuavius Cotton put himself at the head of the class. The senior took home the title in the 2015 College Slam Dunk Championship.
The event came to a somewhat lackluster conclusion after Green Bay Phoenix guard Keifer Sykes, Cotton's opponent in the final, failed to register a single dunk and earned an 18 out of 40. GoldandBlack.com made note of the low hurdle Cotton needed to clear in order to win it all:

Cotton attempted a variety of between-the-legs slams but failed to complete any. With the clock ticking down, he settled for a simpler left-handed windmill, which was more than enough to outscore Sykes. The event's Twitter accounted posted a photo of Cotton with his championship belt:
He was gracious in victory:
In the end, few can argue with Cotton coming out on top. After the first round, he was second to Sykes with a 36 out of 40, per ESPN:

Then came the semifinals, during which Cotton stole the show.
He started things off with a nasty left-handed jam in which he cleared Butler Bulldogs guard Alex Barlow. Matt Maydo of Fox Sports in Australia captured the impressive jam on Vine:
Cotton's second dunk may have been even better. He passed the ball to himself and collected it off the bounce a few steps inside the foul line before sending it home in thunderous fashion. ScoutsFocus posted a highlight of the dunk:
Those two dunks were enough to give Cotton a 96.2 and put him in first place heading into the final, per Delta State:
It would be a bit unfair to Cotton to remember only his final dunk. Although that last dunk was far from memorable, his performance in the semifinal put him in a great position for the last round.
This closes the curtain on Cotton's college basketball career, and he couldn't have picked a better moment to go out on top. Looking at the freakish athleticism he displayed in the dunk contest, this is unlikely to be the last act of his basketball journey.
