Now that the curtain has fallen on a superb WrestleMania, our attention will look back at those moments and matches that will live long in the memory.

And just like at WrestleMania 30 last year, the WWE knocked it out of the park again and delivered a number of matches that fans will cherish for a long time.

Placed alongside the exclusive club of WrestleMania matches that will forever stand the test of time are some new bouts that were captivating, enthralling and simply sensational.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

This match was the favorite to steal the show at WrestleMania 31, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

With outrageous spots throughout and some of the most popular wrestlers on the WWE roster at the moment, high hopes were expected for the IC title match.

It may have come as a surprise when it was chosen to kick off the entire pay-per-view, but it managed to set the tone nicely for a night that was considered a success overall.

Daniel Bryan's performance as the winner naturally caught the eye, but there was plenty elsewhere to admire.

Dean Ambrose being wickedly thrown through a ladder by Luke Harper, another strong performer on the night, was of particular interest. It created a huge uproar when it happened and was one of the most memorable moments of the night.

And what about Bryan's success? He and Dolph Ziggler going at it at the top of the ladder before Bryan ultimately gained the win was a great ending, and it set things up nicely for their rematch on Raw the following night.

All in all, a superb match that seemed to have it all.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

A week or so ago, there's no way you'd have pinned the main event of Sunday's spectacle as featuring on a list that included some of WrestleMania's biggest matches.

However, the news 24 hours before WrestleMania 31 that Lesnar had re-signed with the company was a massive game-changer and seemed to alter the dynamics of the match, as well as the outcome.

From the moment the first bell rang in the main event, Lesnar's performance was simply barbaric and unmissable.

WWE fans are so into Lesnar largely because he delivers a brand of in-ring performances that no other wrestler is capable of pulling off. In these modern days, when the WWE fan yearns for the Attitude Era, Lesnar is the closest thing left that resembles anything like a Steve Austin-type brawler.

And you have to give credit where it's due with WWE, because it booked the outcome of this bout to absolute perfection. Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract like a master heel, gaining plenty of attention in the process.

The champion never actually got pinned, which set things up magnificently for the following night on Raw when Lesnar took his frustration out on anyone he could get his hands on at ringside.

It was a spectacular and fitting end to a WrestleMania that will certainly never be forgotten, not least because it was Seth Rollins' night.
