Daily Fantasy College Basketball 2015: DraftKings Strategy for March 28

Tyler ConditMar 28, 2015

Today, two men's college basketball teams will punch their tickets to the Final Four.

For the second straight year, the Arizona Wildcats and Wisconsin Badgers will duke (pun intended) it out in the Elite Eight for a shot to play the Kentucky Wildcatserthe winner of the matchup between Kentucky and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Last year's bout between Wisconsin and Arizona went to overtime. Yet somehow the teams seem more evenly matched this season.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($6,600) vs. Notre Dame

Karl-Anthony Towns was a complete non-factor in Kentucky's blowout win over West Virginia. The future lottery pick had just one point and two rebounds because he spent most of the game on the bench in foul trouble.

Fortunately, Towns won't be too highly owned because he is coming off such a poor outing. That poor outing was an aberrationnot the norm. Towns should bounce back against a Notre Dame team that plays porous interior defense. Per DraftKings, in the tournament, opposing bigs are averaging 28.75 fantasy points against Zach Auguste and backup Bonzie Colson.

Those sky-high fantasy numbers were put up by less-than-stellar athletes. If the trio of Darius Carter, Kameron Woods and Scott Eatherton could dominate in the post, surely Kentucky's future NBA All-Star will have no trouble exceeding value.

Bonzie Colson ($3,300) vs. Kentucky

Colson is hardly Mr. Reliable for the Fighting Irish. In his past four games, he hasn't once exceeded 10 fantasy points. But in all likelihood, Colson will see a massive uptick in minutes against the Wildcats.

Believe it or not, but Kentucky Sports Radio's Drew Franklin notes that the Wildcats' starting five would be the tallest in the NBA. So in college, the Wildcats look and feel like the Monstars. Their immense height down low means they draw a ton of fouls. Expect Notre Dame starter Auguste to get into foul trouble early. If, no, when that happens, Colson will get minutes, and when Colson gets time on the floor, he usually piles up stats.

He has hit value in five of his past six games in which he's played more than 10 minutes.

Frank Kaminsky ($9,900) vs. Arizona or Caleb Tarczewski ($4,900) vs. Wisconsin

Wasn't that Caleb Tarczewski vs. Matt Stainbrook matchup a pleasure to watch?

Frank Kaminsky will likely battle in a similar fashion. Both players should see a ton of time of possession, though Tarczewski will not be as involved in the offense. Both players have excellent chances of posting double-doubles.

Yes, Kaminsky is expensive, but he provides the highest floor on the board tonight because of the sheer lack of other stars in these two games. Even Kaminsky's worst outings yield around 27 fantasy points.

T.J. McConnell ($7,800) vs. Wisconsin

Arizona's floor leader should continue his hot streak in the Elite Eight against Wisconsin. In his last game, he couldn't hit anything from the floor, yet he posted over 30 fantasy points. His usage rate is high enough and his price is low enough that he's the safest guard on the board.
