NIT Tournament 2015: Updated Bracket and Schedule for Semifinal Matchups
Not all of the madness of March is found in the NCAA tournament. Some of the greatest moments this month have come from the NIT, including the game-clinching shot that earned one team a trip to Madison Square Garden.
Trey Freeman made a massive three-pointer to send Old Dominion into the NIT semifinals. For those who haven't seen the shot, SportsCenter shared it on Twitter following the game:

Freeman has led the Monarchs all season and will look to continue a splendid junior season against Stanford. Miami needed similar heroics from Sheldon McClellan to make the trek and will face Temple for the right to play in the NIT final.

NIT Breakdown

It's not a shot at a national title or even a trip to the Final Four, but traveling to Madison Square Garden is a pretty nice reward for a great season. That's exactly what Old Dominion, Stanford, Miami and Temple will get to enjoy next week.
In the first matchup, McClellan will look to continue his hot play against a Temple team that earned a No. 1 seed. The junior leads the Hurricanes in scoring this year with 14.4 points per game and finished with 16 against Richmond.
As Matt Porter of The Palm Beach Post points out, the guard's game was one of his best:
The Hurricanes will face off with a great defensive team in Temple. While the Owls have only scored 64.8 points per game this season, they hold opponents to 61.2, ranking 45th in the country. Those numbers, along with seven steals and 4.3 blocks per game, make the Owls a worthy opponent.
After finishing the season strong with seven wins in its last eight games, Temple is eyeing a third NIT title in school history. Will Cummings, the Owls' leading scorer, spoke about what it means to play at MSG.
''Everyone that plays basketball should get a chance to play at Madison Square Garden,'' Cummings said, per The Associated Press (via Sports Illustrated). ''It's kind of like the stage of all stages.''
On the other side of the bracket sit two teams led by outstanding guards. Freeman is the junior that nailed the game-winning shot to send the Monarchs to the semifinals. Chasson Randle, on the other hand, is a guard who knows all about shining when the lights are the brightest.
The senior has averaged 23 points in the NIT thus far after leading Stanford to the Sweet 16 last year. Stanford's official account notes just how close Randle is to owning the all-time scoring record for the Cardinal:
Needless to say, both games should be thrilling down to the final buzzer. With a lot on the line for each team at the Holy Grail of basketball in New York, the NIT semifinals offer an entertaining break just before the Final Four begins.
