Jennings Reportedly Will Sign With Dolphins
Wednesday, April 22
Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reported that Jennings will sign with the Dolphins, per a source. He added his reaction, saying, "Great fit. They needed a veteran receiver."
The deal is for two years, $8 million dollars, according to Pro Football Talk.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported on April 15 that the Dolphins remained in the mix for Jennings after he completed his visit with the team, per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reported the details of the visit:
"Twice now in three weeks, the Dolphins have hosted an established free agent receiver.
And like Michael Crabtree before him, Greg Jennings left team headquarters without a deal.
Jennings spent most of Tuesday visiting with the Dolphins, who currently have the youngest group of wide receivers in the NFL. If he ultimately signs with Miami, which very much remains a possibility, he would become the most senior player at that position by six years.
But the Dolphins seem to be sticking to their plan of not overpaying for a free agent receiver — even though they probably need at least one veteran.
"
ESPN's James Walker reported on April 7 that Jennings was set to meet with the Dolphins. Salguero added more on the visit:
"The Dolphins and Jennings were supposed to meet, at least informally, in Phoenix during the NFL annual meeting three weeks ago but that never happened.
Jennings is interesting to the Dolphins because head coach Joe Philbin is familiar with him from their time together with the Green Bay Packers.
The Dolphins want to add a veteran wide receiver presence to a room that has seen the trading of Mike Wallace, and the cutting of Brandon Gibson and Brian Hartline this offseason.
The role for that vet is unclear, however, because it's possible the Dolphins will draft a wide receiver in the first round.
"
On March 22, ESPN's Trey Wingo first reported that Miami was "looking at adding WR depth" and would be speaking with Jennings.

On April 16, Underhill reported that Jennings was set to meet with the Saints on Thursday.
Underhill reported that there is interest from both sides to complete a deal and noted that "Jennings would make a lot of sense for the Saints. Team needs playmakers. He still has plenty to offer."
On April 14, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed that Jennings' plan following his visit with Jacksonville included a visit with the Saints.
Jaguars Have Interest, Schedule Visit With Jennings
Tuesday, April 14
After visiting with the Jaguars, Jennings posted an interesting message on Twitter:
Jennings visited the Jaguars on Monday, as relayed ProFootballTalk on Twitter, citing a league source.
According to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union, it's "unlikely it's a fly-in-and-sign-on-the-same-day deal," as the two sides are only set for a visit at this time.
On March 23, Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said the team has "interest" in Jennings, per O'Halloran.

Jennings Talking to Many Teams
Tuesday, March 17
During an interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio, Jennings said that he was in discussion with multiple teams and is looking forward to the future:
As far as the criteria Jennings has looking for a new team, the veteran wideout said there were other considerations besides winning a Super Bowl:
Jennings also revealed in an interview with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the Vikings wanted to keep him prior to their trade for Mike Wallace, per TwinCities.com.
"No. 1, I wanted to know if they wanted me to be a part of the organization," Jennings said. "They said they did. They made the trade and here I am sitting and talking to you in a position of free agency."
Jennings was released by the Vikings after the team acquired Wallace from Miami. The 31-year-old signed with Minnesota in 2013 after playing seven years with Green Bay. He had 127 catches for 1,546 yards and 10 touchdowns in 31 games before being let go.
Even though his best days are in the rearview mirror, Jennings is a solid contributor. Through all of Minnesota's quarterback issues in 2013 and 2014 before Teddy Bridgewater took over, Jennings' performance never wavered. He just isn't going to be the guy who had over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons from 2008-10.
