Chelsea Transfer News: Douglas Costa Rumoured to Make Summer Move
Shakhtar Donetsk's Douglas Costa has been openly professing his love for Chelsea and his desire to move to Stamford Bridge the past few days, and according to the latest rumours, the Brazilian forward is about to get his wish.
The Sun's Mike McGrath claims the Blues and Shakhtar have agreed to a transfer in principle that will see the 24-year-old move to west London at the end of the season for a fee of £18 million:
"The Brazilian midfielder has agreed in principle to sign for the Premier League leaders at the end of the season in an £18million deal.
Chelsea will monitor the 24-year-old’s fitness between now and the end of the season before landing him from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Costa has previously suffered knee problems but is confident of proving his fitness before sealing his dream move to Stamford Bridge.

As shared by ESPN FC, the forward recently told FourFourTwo how anxious he was to join compatriot Willian at Chelsea:
The reported price tag is on the low side for a player as talented as Costa, but Shakhtar were always expected to be in a selling mood entering the transfer market due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Back in July, Costa was among a group of players refusing to return to Ukraine, as reported by the Associated Press (for the Guardian).
Costa's talent is undeniable, but where he fits into Jose Mourinho's starting XI is more of a question mark. He seems like more of a luxury purchase at this point in time, but for a team that already has talent across the pitch, fortifying the bench with another gifted scorer is never a bad thing.
