Selection Sunday 2015 Time: Viewing Info for NCAA Tournament Bracket Unveiling

Sean ODonnellMar 15, 2015

Most conferences have already crowned their respective champions, and while those teams are gearing up for the Big Dance, bubble teams are forced to wait for the NCAA tournament's selection committee to reveal their fates on Selection Sunday.

Before the bracket comes to fruition, all bubble teams will have their eyes on Sunday afternoon's AAC tournament final, as Connecticut suddenly came alive during the postseason and has a shot at the conference's title. If the Huskies prevail, adjustments to the bubble will force yet another March Madness hopeful out of contention.

Yes, Sunday will truly provide a wild ride. If your team happens to reside on the bubble, take a look at the essential Selection Sunday viewing information while you sit around nervously biting your fingernails.

Bubble Teams to Watch

Oklahoma State Cowboys

STILLWATER, OK - FEBRUARY 7: Mitchell Solomon #41 and Le'Bryan Nash #2 of the Oklahoma State Cowboys celebrate during the game against the Kansas Jayhawks at Gallagher-Iba Arena on February 7, 2015 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State defeated Kansas 6

Oklahoma State has been one of the nation's most enigmatic teams this season. The Cowboys didn't enter the year with high expectations after the departure of Marcus Smart to the NBA; however, they produced some surprising performances, defeating Baylor (twice), Texas and Kansas in a five-game stretch.

Unfortunately, the team couldn't keep that great run alive, dropping six of its last seven games, including a 64-49 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma in the Big 12 tournament. That disastrous late-season stretch has this team firmly within the bubble.

That tournament loss didn't do the Cowboys any favors, as a 49-point showing won't pass any eye tests. With Connecticut in the AAC final, Oklahoma State may be paying close attention to that contest's outcome, as it could be the possible victim of a shift in the committee's pecking order following a Huskies berth in the NCAA tournament.

LSU Tigers

Looking at the first half of the season, LSU appears to be a lock for the Big Dance. The Tigers won 13 of their first 16 contests, dropping games to Old Dominion, Clemson and Missouri (a very bad loss) and defeating West Virginia, Georgia and Ole Miss along the way.

The second half of the season didn't quite go as well. LSU dropped conference games to Texas A&M (twice), Mississippi State, Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee. Obviously, the Kentucky loss is no big deal; however, the loss to Auburn could come back to haunt LSU considering Bruce Pearl's squad bested it again in the conference tournament.

While dropping out of the SEC tournament following a 73-70 overtime loss to Auburn shouldn't make or break LSU's chances of gaining entry into the Big Dance, it will keep the Tigers firmly on the bubble and make things just a little more uncomfortable while the team awaits the bracket reveal.

BYU Cougars

LAS VEGAS, NV - MARCH 09: Kyle Collinsworth #5 of the Brigham Young Cougars reacts after tying the NCAA career record for triple-doubles with six, all coming this season, during a semifinal game of the West Coast Conference Basketball tournament at the O

The Cougars have been an incredibly fun team to watch this season. They boast one of the nation's best offenses, led by the electrifying Tyler Haws; however, the team's atrocious defense has led to many shaky games against inferior competition and the inability to overtake many tournament-worthy opponents.

BYU began the season by putting up a slew of points against lesser competition, but it fell to San Diego State, Purdue, Utah and Gonzaga—all NCAA tournament teams. The final stretch of the regular season continued the Cougars' roller-coaster ride, as they managed to take down Gonzaga on the road but just barely escaped what would have been a devastatingly terrible loss to Santa Clara just one game later.

The Cougars did advance to the WCC tournament final, where they once again met Gonzaga. This time, the Zags handled BYU with ease, winning 91-75. That loss didn't help BYU's chances of earning a spot in the NCAA tournament, but the team may have done just enough to warrant a berth in the Big Dance. We'll find out for sure Selection Sunday.
