Super Bowl 2016 Odds: Colts, Seahawks Emerge as Early Favorites
Even though the 2015 NFL season doesn't start for six months, all the movement through trades and free agency have given the oddsmakers all the ammo needed to release updated odds for next year's Super Bowl.
Per David Purdum of ESPN, citing the MGM Sportsbook, the Indianapolis Colts are the surprising favorites to win Super Bowl 50 with 5-1 odds. Next in line are the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers at 11-2, followed by the defending champion New England Patriots at 6-1.
Here are the notable odds listed in Purdum's report:

| New York Jets | 75-1 |
The Colts are an interesting favorite. Andrew Luck is great at quarterback, which has been enough to win a title in the past, but they don't feel like the best team despite some of their free agent moves.
Frank Gore, Andre Johnson and Trent Cole are all well-known commodities, but as Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus wrote for ESPN, those three players are at least five years past their peak.
"The Colts have signed a collection of players at positions of need who are all fading in ability, while for the most part ignoring younger options, despite having the money to spend. One or two of these signings may work out and represent upgrades to the team, but it's a senseless approach to free agency overall from Indianapolis.
"
Seattle and Green Bay are certainly logical choices to win the Super Bowl, having just played for the NFC Championship. The Seahawks made one of the biggest acquisitions when they traded for Jimmy Graham, while the Packers still have Aaron Rodgers and retained key free agents like Randall Cobb and Bryan Bulaga.

Despite their offseason losses, the Patriots are always going to be a factor thanks to the duo of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. They haven't lost before the conference championship round since 2010.
One interesting omission from this particular list are the Denver Broncos. Even though Peyton Manning finished the season on a down note, he still threw for 4,727 yards with 39 touchdowns and the roster is still loaded with talent in a weak AFC West.
All of these odds are fluid, as new ones will be released with each move made and the draft will also cause a shift. Teams that win headlines in the offseason rarely win the Super Bowl, so it's certainly rational to expect a team not even listed to be holding the Lombardi Trophy next February.
That's the magic of football, just when you think everything is figured out, weird things happen that make you change your entire world view.
