Big East Tournament 2015: Round 1 Scores, Quarterfinals Bracket and Schedule
Two years into the revamped Big East and there are no signs of slowing down. As many as six of the 10 Big East teams are headed to the Big Dance, and that number could skyrocket to seven if a Cinderella burrows its way to a tournament championship.
The four teams in need of that type of deep run were in action Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Marquette and Seton Hall did battle in the night's first game, with DePaul and Creighton closing out the night. The winner of the former contest advances to play top-seeded Villanova, while Georgetown awaits the victor in the latter matchup.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
While an uphill climb, no team outside of Villanova has proven itself to be consistently elite all season. It's possible Wednesday's games will be a prelude to a run we're talking about all the way until the opening round.
With that in mind, let's check in on all of the action from Madison Square Garden.
| (8) Seton Hall vs. (9) Marquette | Marquette, 78-56 |
| (7) DePaul vs. (10) Creighton | Creighton, 78-63 |
Creighton Runs Away in Second Half

James Milliken poured it in from all over. Austin Chatman and Devin Brooks got it done on the line. Together, the three Creighton guards each scored in double figures and propelled the Bluejays to a 78-63 victory over DePaul.
Milliken led the way with a game-high 22 points, adding three rebounds and two assists. The junior guard has scored in double figures in four of his last five games, emerging as a late-season surprise after struggling for much of the year. He knocked down eight of his 14 shots, including half of his six three-pointers, and was especially hot when keeping Creighton in the game during the first half.

The Bluejays held just a 35-33 lead at the break, and the game was tied as late as the 12:45 mark before they pulled away. Chatman was particularly integral to that push, scoring eight points in a stretch of just a little over two minutes starting with 6:19 remaining. He finished with 11 points, seven of which came at the charity stripe.
Eight of Brooks' 12 points also came in the second half. The Creighton guard also added five points and five rebounds off the bench.
As for DePaul, it all came crashing down from beyond the arc. The Blue Demons shot 7-of-22 from three-point range, a number that wasn't caused by any one chucker. Ten different DePaul players took at least one three, but only three of those guys (Tommy Hamilton IV, Jamee Crockett and R.J. Curington) made them at an acceptable clip.
Four players, led by Crockett's 15, scored in double figures for DePaul. Creighton moves on to play Georgetown on Thursday.
Marquette Thrashes Seton Hall

Matt Carlino scored a game-high 26 points and was one of four Marquette players in double figures as the Golden Eagles advanced to play Villanova with a 78-56 victory over Seton Hall.
Carlino was lights-out from beyond the three-point arc, scoring 24 of his 26 points from deep on 8-of-12 shooting. He actually struggled inside the arc, making one of six shots, but it was of little consequence with Seton Hall losing him time and again on the perimeter. Sportswriter Brendan Prunty highlighted Carlino's performance:
The senior guard was joined by Duane Wilson with 13 points and Luke Fischer with 14. Steve Taylor Jr. came off the bench and scored 10 points, one of only seven Marquette players to hit the floor before garbage time. The Eagles were stellar from the three-point arc overall, making 13 of their 29 field goals from outside the stripe.
Point guard Derrick Wilson helped set up a ton of those, finishing the game with a career-high 14 assists. Wilson was consistently able to thrash through a leaky Seton Hall perimeter to find open shooters when the defense crashed.
Marquette opened the game on a 10-2 run and never trailed, leading by 13 at halftime and by as many as 27. Seton Hall got 12 points from Isaiah Whitehead but was otherwise left hanging by its stars. Sterling Gibbs had six points and five assists on 1-of-8 shooting, seven of which came from beyond the arc. No starter other than Whitehead so much as made half of his shots.

Forward Desi Rodriguez was solid en route to scoring nine points off the bench, but it was to little avail. The Pirates made just five of their 21 shots from deep and could never get a stop defensively when they mounted momentum.
Once ranked inside the Top 25, Seton Hall finishes the 2014-15 campaign with nine losses in its last 10 games and a 3-12 record in its last 15.
Touted before the season as finally building the program he wants, Kevin Willard will finish without an NCAA tournament berth for the fifth straight year. It will be interesting to see if the 39-year-old, who never made the tourney during his run at Iona, either, still has the strident backing of the program as he heads in the coming days.
As for Marquette, it takes on a Villanova buzz saw that defeated the Golden Eagles by a combined 29 points in their two regular-season matchups.
