WWE NXT Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from March 4
NXT has become synonymous with women's wrestling that breaks boundaries and proves that the female talent under contract to WWE is every bit as capable of stealing the show and delivering quality matches as the men.
Wednesday night, Charlotte and Sasha Banks continued their rivalry over the women's title, meaning in the main event.
What would happen when The Boss defended her title against the second-generation Diva she helped bring up on NXT?
Would she be able to successfully retain her title, or would she have the dubious distinction of being the shortest reigning women's champion in NXT history?
What would happen when Solomon Crowe returned to the ring to battle Bull Dempsey, while Baron Corbin made his presence felt in another squash match?
And how about Adam Rose, who returned to NXT to battle Tyler Breeze?
Fans got their answers as the most exciting brand in sports entertainment hit the WWE Network.
Now, find out everything that went down as WWE presented the March 4 episode of NXT!
Adam Rose vs. Tyler Breeze
1 of 5
Adam Rose made his return to NXT to kick off this week's show, seemingly forgetting that he ever made the ill-fated heel turn that doomed him on the main roster.
His opponent? Tyler Breeze, who has been attempting to rebound from a disappointing loss to Hideo Itami at the last Takeover special.
Breeze spoiled Rose's homecoming, knocking him off with the Beauty Shot and sending the Rosebuds home disappointed.
Result
Tyler Breeze defeated Adam Rose.

Analysis
It was nice to see Breeze pick up a win after becoming lost in the shuffle over the last three months, but beating someone like Rose, who is little more than a main roster enhancement talent at this point, does little to enhance his status in the grand scheme of things.
Seeing Triple H and NXT management essentially ignore everything WWE Creative has done to screw up the Rose character, returning him to the fun-loving party animal he originated as in NXT, when he thrived, was interesting.
Perhaps it shows the COO's defiance to accept the poor booking that has accompanied his stars' promotions to the main roster. Whether that is the case or not, it bares watching in the future.
Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake vs. Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton
2 of 5
After raising the ire of Enzo Amore and Big Cass, a team that figures to be their next challengers, NXT Tag Team champions Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake were in action, squaring off against the upstart team of Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton.
Fulton and Dawkins showed flashes in the fairly short match but by the end of the contest, a cheap shot from Murphy and a big suplex set up the Frog Splash from Blake to Dawkins for the win.
Result
Murphy and Blake defeated Dawkins and Fulton when Blake pinned Dawkins.

Analysis
Wins like this will help Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake develop into strong tag champions. After being enhancement talents themselves early in their NXT careers, they are now on the other end, looking strong at the expense of two young stars who can only hope to one day enjoy the success their opponents are experiencing.
This existed solely to put the champions over as they prepare for a program with Big Cass and Enzo Amore in the coming weeks and months.
When taking that into consideration, it more than did its job, whether it was flashy or not.
Baron Corbin vs. Tony Briggs
3 of 5
After a performance at Takeover: Rival that did more to hurt him than advance him up the ranks in NXT, Baron Corbin demolished Tony Briggs, pinning him following the End of Days after only 54 seconds.
Result
Baron Corbin pinned Tony Briggs.
Grade
D
Analysis
Corbin really should be graduating past these squash matches at this point.
While the aura that surrounds him thrives on his in-ring dominance, he needs to work with talented and skilled wrestlers if he ever hopes to develop into more than just an intimidating big man.
Wins like the one Wednesday night, over an enhancement talent, only go so far in establishing a star before he one day has to beat someone further up the card in order to prove that he belongs. That time is coming for Corbin.
If not, the risk of the crowd becoming bored and burnt out with the treadmill booking becomes very real.
Solomon Crowe vs. Bull Dempsey
4 of 5Solomon Crowe took over NXT this week as he squared off with Bull Dempsey in singles action.
Dempsey dominated early, working over the core of Crowe before attempting his diving headbutt. That failed, miserably, allowing the newcomer to mount a comeback.
He would put Dempsey away with a slingshot headbutt to the ribs, ensuring that Dempsey's losing ways continued.
Result
Solomon Crowe defeated Bull Dempsey.
Grade
C-
Analysis
Crowe is an interesting character, but nothing that he has done in the ring to this point suggests that he can hold a candle to the tremendous workers that the brand touts, including the likes of Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville and Finn Balor.
Of course, booking him against Dempsey was, by no means, the best way to showcase his talent.
Still, Crowe must know that fans have come to expect a certain quality of performance from the indy standouts who have infiltrated NXT over the last year. If he cannot perform up to the level of his predecessors, they will turn on him.
That is, unless the character catches their attention first.
NXT Women's Championship: Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks
5 of 5One of the greatest women's rivalries in wrestling today continued Wednesday night as Sasha Banks defended the NXT Women's Championship against Charlotte in the main event.
Banks attempted to bail on the match early, but the challenger ensured that the contest would continue, chasing her down and tossing her back into the squared circle.
The champion slowed the pace of the match down, taking over midway through and seemingly having control of the bout.
Late, though, Charlotte fought back, blasting her former friend and partner with a big spear and looking every bit like someone about to capture the title for the second time. Unfortunately, as she came off the top rope for Natural Selection, Banks caught her, rolled her up and used the ropes for leverage, scoring the tainted pinfall victory.
Result
Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte.
Grade
B
Analysis
The best pairings in wrestling history have been able to keep their matches fresh and interesting by playing upon sequences that occurred in previous matches. That was the case here, as the two pros worked in spots that played upon events from their previous matches.
For instance, Charlotte used Natural Selection off the top rope to beat Banks back at Takeover: R Evolution so Banks, a cerebral worker, countered the maneuver Wednesday night and picked up the pinfall victory.
It was a brilliant bit of storytelling and one that helped to showcase just how much better and more advanced the Divas in NXT are when compared to the girls on the main roster, with the exception of a few.
Banks, when all is said and done, may very well be the best female wrestler on the WWE roster, and fans should relish the opportunity to watch her for years to come.
