WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for February 25

The Doctor Chris MuellerFeb 24, 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of NXT on the WWE Network. Spoilers are already out there, but if you want to know what will happen without learning the match results, you're in the right place. However, there will be mild spoilers about a returning Superstar.

Last week saw the shocking cameo by the ECW legend and master of the Gore, Rhyno. The former ECW champion picked up a quick win, but the interesting part of his return was the moment he was backstage with Finn Balor.

Whether or not this will lead to some kind of storyline is yet to be seen, but if WWE management wants someone with experience to put Balor over, Rhyno fits the bill nicely.

The card is light this week with only four matches, but at least every division will be represented. Let's take a look at what's on tap for Wednesday's episode of NXT.

The Women

Two of the four women who tore the house down at TakeOver: Rival will be in action this week when Bayley takes on Becky Lynch.

These two were probably the most physical out of the four participants in that match, and we should see them bring that same drive to this encounter.

Considering both Bayley and Lynch are coming off a loss, there's no clear winner. Either one of them would regain a little momentum with a victory.

Charlotte will have her rematch eventually, but whoever wins this match could be on their way to becoming the next No. 1 contender to Sasha Banks' Women's Championship.

The Tag Teams

The Lucha Dragons are back in action this week against the team of Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger. Jordan and Dillinger have been teaming together for months, but they haven't found much success.

Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake were in the same position a few months ago, and now they're tag team champions, so this could be Jordan and Dillinger's first step toward a push.

However, it's far more likely that Sin Cara and Kalisto will pick up an easy win here. Management may be waiting until The Ascension have settled in to bring up Sin Cara and Kalisto for a real push, so it would be wise to keep them relevant in NXT in the meantime.

What we really need to see is Jordan and Dillinger have a chance to wrestle a longer match. Even if they lose, putting on a good show with two very capable wrestlers like Sin Cara and Kalisto will go a long way.

The Men

Two singles matches will take place on Wednesday, with one of them being somewhat hard to talk about in advance without spoiling other parts of the show.

Here's what can be said: Someone will issue an open challenge to the whole roster, and someone else will answer that challenge.

Time to discuss the main event. If you thought the surprise returns stopped last week with Rhyno, you were wrong. Another former WWE Superstar is making an appearance this week, and it might shock you to find out who it is. Brace yourself.

It's The Brian Kendrick. Alright, that might have been a little anticlimactic, but it's still cool to see this very talented wrestler back in WWE.

The former tag team champion will be taking on the current No. 1 contender to the NXT title, Finn Balor. Just thinking about the kinds of things these two men are capable of should get you excited for this match.

It's been almost six years since Kendrick last wrestled for WWE, so some of you might not be too familiar with him. One of his great claims to fame is being one half of the team London and Kendrick with Paul London.

They held the tag titles for almost a year on SmackDown, fending off some great teams while having really exciting matches.

Kendrick's fast-paced style will mesh well with Balor. Even if they only get 10 minutes to work with, they should be able to steal the show with ease.

The big unknown is whether this is a one-time deal for Kendrick or if he has signed some kind of short-term deal.

If he is back for a little while, he might actually get the win, but Balor is the guy who is supposed to challenge the champion, so having him lose would not help him look like a strong competitor.

Either way, this should be an extremely fun main event to cap off what looks like another solid card for the developmental brand. What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
